Keep going there’s still more!

Cochrane

I noticed this spot while looking on Google maps for interesting locations, it was easy to tell that this spot would give a pretty good view and it was just a matter of waiting for a good night to shoot it.

This location offers all of the prairie icons you can think of, railway, foothills and distant views of the mountains.

Photos Taken

I was only thinking about shooting this train if it had an engine at the end, so the initial photos we’re meant to setup for that, but I liked this shot because it’s different from other train photos because it doesn’t focus on the front of the train.

The best tool a photographer has is perception, in this case the overall idea and mood of the image changes when you know that this is actually the backed of the train.

Finally the best shot from this sunset shoot, and I chose to make it black & white…

The reason for this is because I didn’t like the colors from this sunset but in B&W the distracting colors are taken away and bring focus back to the main subject, the bridge.
